The Detroit Yacht Club Fundraiser Is Coming Up Quick

With the early season warmup we had it seems like the first part of 2012 has gone by in the blink of an eye! The DYC fundraiser for the Gold Cup event is just weeks away - April 27th.

The DYC is a beautiful and historic place. If you haven't been there before, put it on your to-do list. It's a private club so this is a great opportunity to visit.

Founded in 1868, the original section of the current structure was dedicated in 1923. It was designed by architect George Mason whose vision was also responsible for Detroit's Masonic Temple, Gem Theatre and the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.

Couch Racing with Chip Hanauer

On April 21, the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum in Seattle will host a "tell-all" lecture and Chip will "spill the beans" on the funny, wacky and unbelievable things that happened in his 30 year career driving race boats. It will also be live-streamed. 5pm Eastern, 2pm Pacific times.

Web Site Helper?

We're doing a major rework of our web site for 2012 and the future using a Content Management System. While we focus on improving the structure there is some repetitive work where we could use some elbow grease help adding history stories and past newsletters. If you're a DRRA volunteer (or would like to be) and are good at blog-like editing, we'd like to hear from you.
