Hydroplanes don't float like other boats do. They ride out of the water with just three points touching the water - the propeller and the 2 sponsons. As the boats slows down, you can see it sitting lower in the water.

Hydroplanes don't float like other boats do. They ride out of the water with just three points touching the water - the propeller and the 2 sponsons. As the boat reduces speed further, it looks like it's going to dive under water! (but it doesn't!)
