Happy Labor Day

Where did the summer go!? We hope yours has been great and that it continues to be so.

Volunteer Party Invite from Tom Bertolini

On behalf of the DRRA Board of Director's I would like to thank you for your dedication and commitment to the 2014 Detroit APBA Gold Cup.

I would personally like to invite all 2014 volunteers and their guest to this year's volunteer appreciation party to be held Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Pit Tower.

Location: Pit Tower, Dodge Pits
Date: Thursday, September 25, 2014
Time: 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
- 5:00 pm Happy Hour
- 6:00 pm Dinner
- 7:00 pm Awards

BBQ Dinner, soda, water, wine and beer will be available courtesy of the DRRA.

Volunteers need to bring their own chairs.

Please RSVP by September 19th by calling 586-774-0980, leave a message if necessary or contact us.  It is very important for volunteers to RSVP, so that we can have an accurate count for food and beverages.

We have established a rain date of Friday, September 26th. If it is necessary to postpone the party we will send out an email to everyone, if you do not receive email please contact someone you know who receives the DRRA emails or call the DRRA office.

Look forward to seeing you on September 25th.

- The winner of the Columbia Cup race is ... Jimmy Shane in the U-6 Oberto!

- The winner of the Seattle Seafair race is ... J. Michael Kelly in the U-1 Graham Trucking!

- The next race is Bayfair in San Diego, September 12-14th. See http://www.sandiegobayfair.org for more info

- During the Columbia Cup and the Seattle Seafair, Dave Villwock and Jimmy Shane moderately collided on the course. Both times, Dave was judged to be the offending party and was disqualified for the rest of the Seafair event, perhaps the rest of the season. Scott Liddycoat will return to pilot the U-37 at Bayfair.
